PET Twin-Screw Underwater Pelletizing Line
About this video
This parallel twin-screw underwater pelletizing line processes waste PET bottles, PET film and other PET materials into high-quality pellets. The twin screws melt and mix the material uniformly under high temperature and pressure.
The melt passes through the die into the underwater pelletizer, where it is cooled quickly and cut in water, then dried. Rapid water cooling prevents agglomeration and deformation and helps limit material oxidation.
Key points
- Parallel twin-screw extrusion for stable, high output
- Underwater cutting for uniform pellets
- Water cooling lowers energy use and oxidation
- Pellets for packaging, fiber and industrial uses
What the video shows
- PET material is fed into a parallel twin-screw extruder.
- The melt is pushed through the die and cut underwater.
- Pellets are cooled in water, separated and dried.

- Screw
- Parallel twin-screw
- Cutting in this video
- Underwater
- Standard product configuration
- Water-cooled strand cutting
- Feed
- PET bottle flakes and PET film
Questions buyers ask
Underwater or strand cutting for PET?
Underwater cutting gives round, uniform pellets and suits higher outputs; strand cutting is simpler to operate. The cutting method is chosen per project.
Why a twin-screw extruder for PET?
A twin-screw mixes the melt well and works with vacuum venting, which helps remove moisture and volatiles and protects pellet quality.
